There is considerable interest in the independent-living, assisted-living and memory care facility planned for Celebration Boulevard.
Celebration Foundation Thriving in Place has invited Richard Ackerman, chairman and senior managing Partner of Big Rock Partners, to make a presentation about the facility and to answer audience questions.
“We are committed to building a senior housing community that is state of the art and that meets the needs of residents in all respects,” said Ackerman, “The units will allow seniors to retire at home and not worry about next steps because a continuum of care is in place.”
Big Rock is sponsoring lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at Celebration Town Hall.
Registration is limited to 100 participants. Visit www.thecelebrationfoundation.org or call the Celebration Foundation 407-566-1234 to register.
Have you had the Conversation?
Too many people are dying in a way they wouldn’t choose, and too many of their loved ones are left feeling bereaved, guilty, and uncertain.
It’s time to transform our culture so we shift from not talking about dying to talking about it. It’s time to share the way we want to live at the end of our lives. And it’s time to communicate about the kind of care we want and don’t want for ourselves. We believe that the place for this to begin is at the kitchen table—not in the intensive care unit—with the people we love, before it’s too late. – The Conversation Project
The Celebration Foundation is partnering with the West Osceola Branch Library located in Celebration to sponsor Donna Gray, project coordinator of the Conversation Project in Central Florida to start the Conversation in Celebration.
The seminar, scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at the library is free, but registration is required. www.thecelebrationfoundation.org.
Helping others through maternity and children’s clothing
Move on Maternity is a pay it forward organization dedicated to helping underprivileged pregnant women in Central Florida.
We recycle maternity clothes from moms who are done with their pregnancies and donate them to various shelters in the local area. We help fill a great need for these moms and also supply children’s clothing and diapers too.
Thanks to our great partnership with The Celebration Foundation, we are able to offer tax deductible status on all donations and are able to expand our reach with the Foundation’s wide network.
We’re making a huge impact in the community. Our goal is to help as many pregnant women and young children as possible.
