A Celebration woman is among the 16 contestants competing on the 19th season of the CBS reality contest “Big Brother” for a chance to win $500,000.
Jillian Parker, 24, is a timeshare sales representative currently living in Las Vegas. She moved from Celebration to Las Vegas to start a new adventure with her family.
“The girls and I all sell timeshares,” said Jillian’s mother, Pam Parker. “We love traveling and had
been to many of the East Coast resorts, and now we are taking on the West Coast.”
In her first on-camera interview before entering the Big Brother house, Jillian Parker visits the Diary Room to talk about the show. She said she thinks her biggest downfall will be being “too trusting” of the other contestants.
“Jillian is very trusting, but she also watches the others,” said Pam Parker. “She’s a smart girl and she’s determined to win the $500,000.”
In the interview, Jillian Parker credits her recent weight-loss surgery as part of her ticket to the show. After undergoing surgery in January 2017 and losing 50 pounds, Jillian Parker said she felt as though she would not have been able to compete in the game and complete many of the challenges that go on throughout the season.
“For me to be here right now is amazing,” she told CBS. “Here I am and I’m ready to rock!”
Pam said, “I was shocked when [Jillian] told me she was going to California for the show.” “We are really excited to watch her and cheer her on all season.”
Other contestants include Florida man Josh Martinez, Alex Ow, Cameron Heard, Christmas Abott, Cody Nickson, Dominique Cooper, Elena Davies, Jason Dent, Jessica Graf, Kevin Schlehuber, Mark Jansen, Matthew Clines, Megan Lowder, Ramsas Soto and Raven Walton.
How far Jillian will advance on the show remains to be seen. But on Wednesday, she was already up on the block for elimination. She survived however.
The reality contest’s two-hour season premier aired on Wednesday on CBS. Watch all-new episodes of Season 19 Wednesdays and Sundays at 8 p.m.
