Two concerts in March close out this year’s series:  Brass Band of Central Florida Saturday, March 7, and Steep Canyon Rangers Saturday March 28. Both concerts are at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at Community Presbyterian Church in Celebration.

The Brass Band of Central Florida (BBCF) returns by popular demand after a two-year absence. BBCF is a British style brass and percussion band. It performs nationally and internationally in British Band competitions.

Steep Canyon Rangers (SCR) out of North Carolina won the 2013 Grammy for bluegrass album of the year, and is nominated this year for best American roots song “Pretty Little One” that they performed with actor Steve Martin and Eddie Brickell. They have performed multiple times on Prairie Home Companion and Late Night with David Letterman.

General admission tickets ($25) for each concert are now available at Imagination Realty or at The Celebration Foundation office. You can also purchase tickets on-line through thecelebrationfoundation.org.

April is Florida Volunteer Month

April is Florida Volunteer Month as designated by the Florida State Senate and Volunteer Florida.  Volunteering is not only good for community organizations, it’s good for you.  Volunteering helps you make new friends, increases your social skills, combats depression, increases life satisfaction, provides career experience, can keep you physically healthy, and much more.  Many community organizations are looking for people just like you. Yet, any volunteer experience should be personally rewarding.  After all, it is your skills, knowledge and time that not only benefits organizations, but people in the community where you live. Organizations in Celebration and Osceola County offer many opportunities for people to volunteer.  The Celebration Foundation is one such place to volunteer.  Our programs flourish through the efforts of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds.  For more information about our community programs and initiatives, and volunteer and internship opportunities, contact the Celebration Foundation office at 407-566-1234 or visit our websites at www.thecelebrationfoundation.org or www.thrivinginplace.org.
