Florida doesn’t have the traditional signs of fall with colorful foliage and leaves blowing in the wind, but Celebration offers some great opportunities to get you in the spirit of the Halloween season.
Along with the town of Celebration offering a couple of nights of simulated leaves falling during their Oktoberfest celebration, resident Tony Evans offers an amazing and spooky Halloween display in his yard for all to enjoy.
Evans has been decorating for Halloween since 2000 and usually has his display up by Oct. 20 at his home on Celebration Boulevard. Both his house and yard are adorned with scary and funny Halloween decorations.
It’s now a family affair with Evans’ 17 year old son, Tony Evans Jr., helping in the set up routine. Local residents look forward to the decorations each year and the different ways he embellishes it.
The animatronics, lighting and music are especially entertaining.
Evan’s display will be up through Halloween, Oct. 31, at 205 Celebration Blvd.
The reason Evans said he does this every year is for the community, especially the kids, to enjoy the season.
His inspiration comes from time spent with his own family as a child.
“I have fond memories of my mom making a special trip to drive me to see a nearby house decorated for Halloween,” Evans said, “I hope I am providing those same memories to kids in our community.”
