There is no need to panic quite yet, but one of the iconic shows at Disney World, the Cirque du Soleil show, La Nouba, will be wrapping it up in December after a 19-year-run.

The final curtain, well of course there is no curtain, will come down at the La Nouba theater on Dec. 31.

There is no word yet on what will replace the show, but the official Disney blog hints there is probably more to come from Cirque du Soleil give the strong relationship the company has had with Disney through the years.

“We may soon have news to share about exciting new entertainment coming to Disney Springs so stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog,” Disney Springs Marketing Manager Darcy Clark said.

“We are incredibly proud of the success that La Nouba has had for nearly two decades,” said Jerry Nadal, Senior Vice President of the Resident Shows Division for Cirque du Soleil, in a press release. “We want to thank Walt Disney World Resort for a wonderful run over the years. We look forward to announcing what’s next.”

La Nouba, which premiered on Dec. 23, 1998, was the first Cirque du Soleil show to take permanent residence in a city outside of Las Vegas.

The show has been a favorite of both area residents and visitors alike, entertaining more than 10 million guests with its breathtaking acrobatics and stunning choreography.

The show has changed throughout its run, adding some new acts and deleting others. Most recently La Nouba introduced two new acts: B-Boy, commonly referred to as breakdancing, and Aerial Bamboo, a technique mastered by only a handful of performers worldwide. The acts joined following the addition of new clowns and a juggling rolla bolla act.
