Kowboys clinch 8A-7 FB crown; Gateway, St. Cloud see playoff hopes dimmed

Osceola rolled over Haines City, 43-0, Friday to clinch the 8A-7 district championship and a berth in the regional playoffs Nov. 10.
The Kowboys (7-0) scored early and often and scored all of their points in the first half at Haines City.
The Kowboys are ranked No. 3 in the state.

Harmony (5-3) kept its playoff hopes alive by blanking Celebration, 41-0, Friday in 7A District 5. The Longhorns are attempting to qualify for the regionals as an at-large entrant.
Two more county teams saw their playoff hopes take a big hit Friday.
Gateway (4-4) lost to 8A-7 foe Ridge Community,28-15, and St. Cloud slipped to 4-5 after a wild 43-42 loss at Naples Barron Collier.
Liberty (3-5) enjoyed the biggest margin of victory in the program’s history with a 55-0 win over Windermere in 7A-5, but Poinciana (2-6) dropped its homecoming game against Tavares, 43-15.
