Kissimmee teen killed in log truck crash

A Kissimmee teenager was killed in St. Cloud on Tuesday after the car he was driving slid under a log truck on U.S. Highway 192.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Donad Vanosdol, 83, of St. Cloud, was driving a log truck southbound on Deer Park Road, approaching U.S. Highway 192 about 3:35 p.m.

After stopping at a stop sign, Vanosdol attempted to cross U.S. 192.

Isiah Chery, 19, of Kissimmee, who was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima eastbound on U.S. Highway 192 at the time, was unable to stop for the truck, and the Nissan went under the trailer, the report stated.

Chery was pronounced dead at the scene. Three of his passengers, Keyrian Mercado, 20, Ruth Rodriguez, 19, and Daniel Brinez, 20, all from Kissimmee, suffered serious injuries.

Vanosdol did not suffer any injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
