The show must go on.

Hurricane Irma put a damper on things for the opening week of Rock of Ages at Osceola Arts, but the show will go on as scheduled for Sept. 22-24 and Sept. 29-Oct. 1. Shows for Sept. 15-17 were cancelled.

The show had some unexpected delays for its original opening last week because of materials needed for the production, as well as some evacuations of cast and crew, but all is well now for the show that opens the 2017-18 season at Osceola Arts.

The Main Stage at Osceola Arts will be transformed into the famed 1980’s bar, The Bourbon Room, for this popular Broadway rock musical.  Rock of Ages tells the story of Sherrie & Drew, two star-crossed lovers, as they chase their rock star dreams and put their love on the line in the fast-paced city of Hollywood. Other notable characters include rock god Stacee Jaxx, Bourbon Room owner Dennis Dupree and his mischievous assistant Lonny. The cast will be accompanied by live musicians playing popular 1980’s rock anthems by Styx, Journey, Twisted Sister, Poison and more.

“I think I was drawn to this show so much because I love the 80s. Big hair, denim jackets, and amazing music. This show is an ode to the glorious era of rock– it’s fun, it’s fast, and it’s for sure going to rock!,” said Show Director, Willie Halley, “We have amazing singers and dancers, plus our very own band. This is definitely a show people won’t want to miss.”
