Bowling is not an after thought at the swankiest bowling alley in Central Florida (I haven’t been to Splitsville at Disney), but even if you are not an avid bowler, it is pretty easy to spend an afternoon (or evening) at this amazing place for bowling.

It’s another special weekend at the Lakeridge Wintery.

This weekend’s special event is Blues at the Winery.

Held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. toå 5 p.m.,  the outdoor festival will feature live blues music and award-winning Lakeridge Wines. A $2 donation will be accepted at the gate to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and parking is free for all guests.

You can literally shop until you drop this weekend in St. Cloud as the city hosts a city-wide garage sale today and Sunday.

This will probably be the largest event of its kind ever held in the city, said Sandra Ramirez, public information officer for the city of St. Cloud because for the first time the city has opened up the garage sale to businesses as well as residents.

I saw Trance, the latest film by Danny Boyle about a month ago and left the press preview impressed by its visual sense, but not overwhelmed by its story.

Here I am, weeks later, and the plot is less fresh in my mind, but overall, this is not one of Boyle’s (127 Hours, Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) better works.

But there is still a lot to like here.
