“Wear sunscreen” was the advice to of Chicago Tribune columnist Mary Schmich to the class of ’97. She also told new graduates to sing, floss, remember compliments and “don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts.” It was good advice, charmingly told.

After years of moaning about various “conspiracies” against them, conservative activists finally have a real (i.e., not manufactured by Fox or inflated by Limbaugh) piece of evidence to take before the court of public opinion.

Attack on coverage unwarranted

To the Editor:

It was very interesting how two individuals that favor incorporation would write letters to this paper attacking the coverage of a meeting held on April 15 by PRFSC with guest speakers from the Florida League of Cities and PINCHOS, the incorporation movement in Poinciana.  I can only guess that they both think that they are so righteous that everybody should support their way of thinking and shouldn’t make public comments in opposition.

The Florida Senate proved its value recently by not approving SB 0862, the Parent Empowerment in Education Act -- better known as the “Parent Trigger” bill. The tie vote -- 20-20, the same tally as last year – effectively killed the proposed legislation.
