The 7A-2 regional softball semifinal that seemed probable at the beginning of the season materialized Wednesday when Osceola and Harmony won quarterfinal games.

Harmony got clutch relief pitching from freshman Sam Allen, who threw 5 1/3 innings of six-hit ball, and Omar Villamon struck out the side in the seventh to earn the save as the Longhorns captured the 7A-6 district baseball championship, 7-6, over arch-rival St. Cloud Thursday at Chisholm Field.

Fishin’ Fun

This past week I have not had the opportunity to spend even one day on the water. For someone who is on the lake 300-plus days per year, it felt pretty strange. I had to have a little surgery and fishing hasn’t been part of the recovery.
