Osceola clinched the Orange Belt Conference baseball championship Tuesday and won its ninth straight game with a 12-5 win at Harmony that boosted the Kowboys record to 16-3.

The Kowboys pounded 15 hits, including home runs from first baseman Gustavo Rios and shortstop Edwin Bonilla, and pitcher Tony Lima threw four innings of relief to earn the win.

Osceola, the No. 1 seed at the 7A-5 district tournament, overcame a 4-1 deficit.

The Orange Belt Conference baseball race and the tournament seedings for districts 7A-5 and 7A-6 may be settled this week as the high school baseball season enters the home stretch.

In the OBC race, both Harmony and Osceola are unbeaten.

Osceola took another step toward clinching the top seed at the 7A-5 district baseball tournament as well as the Orange Belt Conference championship Thursday after a 3-2 win over Gateway at the Ridenour Athletic Complex.
