Even when Poinciana jumped to a 12-point first-quarter lead, Gateway Coach Bob Baker remained calm Tuesday in the 7A District 5 basketball quarterfinal at the Panthers’ John Ramirez gym.

“One thing I’ll give our kids credit for is that they keep their poise,” Baker said. “We’ve got a lot of experience out there, and I guess I just decided that at this point of the season, they know what to do. It was just a matter of waiting for them to do it.”
