Employees from the Orlando operations of Enterprise Holdings, the parent company of the Alamo Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental brands, have helped raise more than $16,000 for Give Kids The World village through a marathon bowling event June 9 in Orlando.
More than 550 people, including employees, company vendors and friends and family, participated in the bowl-a-thon benefiting the village, a nonprofit resort for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
“Giving back to our communities is something we feel strongly about,” Allison Dufresne, human resources supervisor for Enterprise Holdings, said “We are pleased to help Give Kids The World bring some sunshine into the lives of these special children and their families.”
Village President Pam Landwirth gave hearty praise to Enterprise Holdings and its employees, vendors and friends who all came out to support Give Kids The World.
“The money they raised through the bowl-a-thon will help provide cost-free vacations to children who need them the most,” she said.
More than 75 teams competed in the bowl-a-thon, with each team purchasing a sponsorship package ranging from $150 to $1,500. Donations also were raised through a silent auction, chance-to-win tickets and a photo booth.
The annual event has raised more than $20,000 for the village over the last two years.
The company also is a participant of the village’s “Adopt A Villa” program. Throughout the year, employees volunteer to manage the landscaping, maintenance and holiday decorating of two of village’s 140 villas. Since 2009, employees of Enterprise Holdings have volunteered more than 600 hours there.
