Harmony Coach Jerrad Butler and his players don’t need delays or thunderstorms when Palm Bay Heritage visits Friday at 7:30 p.m.

For the third time in a row, the Longhorns were removed from their usual Friday routine last week in a 21-0 loss to Merritt Island. The game was postponed by storms until Saturday, then called after one half because of more rain.

A bad punt snap that the Mustangs recovered for a touchdown and a blocked field goal attempt made the score look lopsided.

“We gave up two big plays, one via the air and one via the ground,” Butler said. “The offense did some good things, just not enough of them together on one drive.

“We drove into the red zone twice but just couldn’t get that last push. We blocked a lot better this week, and Sterling (Hicks) threw well and the receivers did a good job.”

On defense, Garrett Casto and Tristan Corbitt intercepted passes and Jacob Sammon forced a fumble.

Butler hopes to return to a normal game day this week.

“It’d be nice to get their normal Friday repetition going by now,” he said.

Heritage (1-1) is also out of its routine after a 21-14 loss to Titusville that was pushed back to Monday.

“We’ll have to play well,” Butler said. “They are very opportunistic and swarm to the ball on defense. This would be a good week to start putting it all together.”
