Correction

Osceola High will host Freedom High for the Kickoff Classic today at 7:30 p.m. at Kowboys field.

Information about the location of the game in the Aug. 18 News-Gazette was incorrect. The game was moved from Friday to today because of Hurricane Irene.

Kissimmee LL

Kissimmee Little League will hold final registration for the fall season Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the 1500 Oak Street complex.

The fee is $75; $35 for a second player and $25 for additional players. Players must be ages 4-18 as of April 30, 2011.

OYSL registration

Osceola Youth Softball League will hold registration for its fall league, which begins Sept. 6 for girls 4-14, Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Oren Brown softball complex off Hoagland Boulevard. Registration is $65. Each child needs a copy of her birth certificate.

Volleytotz clinic

Heritage Christian School, 1500 E. U.S. Highway 192 in Kissimmee, will hold a Volleytotz Clinic to introduce children ages 3-7 to athletics.

The clinic is Saturday from  9 to 11 a.m. The fee is $20.

SC Little League

St. Cloud Little League will hold final registration for the fall season Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the concession stand at the Little League complex, located behind the St. Cloud Civic Center on 17th Street.

Fees are $80 for the first child, $55 for a second child and $30 for a third child.

The late registration fee, after Saturday, is an additional $15. Register online at www.eteamz.com/saintcloudll.

Pride tryouts

The Kissimmee Pride 12-U travel baseball team will hold tryouts Saturday and Sunday. Call 321-443-9204 for the time and location.

Kiss. rec softball

The city of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for all teams playing in the 2011 fall softball season.

Ten different leagues of various skill levels for men and women play weeknights and Saturdays.

Fees have been reduced to $275 per team for most leagues. The USSSA competitive men’s league and the Saturday recreational men’s league have $400 fees for a 10-game season, two umpires and two sets of awards.

OHS homecoming

Osceola High School has scheduled a variety of activities for homecoming, Sept. 23, when it will play Celebration High at 7:30 p.m.

The homecoming parade is Sept. 22 at 5 p.m. starting in downtown Kissimmee and continuing to the high school on Thacker Avenue, where a barbecue dinner will be offered for $5.

A tailgate party or corn hole tournament ($20 adult teams/$10 students) will begin at 6 p.m., prior to the junior varsity football game against Poinciana at 6:30 p.m.

On Sept. 24, the Kickin’ Kowboy 5K run/walk begins at 7:30 a.m. at the football stadium, off Patrick Street. Cost is $10 in advance; $5 for the kids’ run at 7:15 a.m. Registration must be completed by 7 a.m.

The Homecoming Golf Classic at Kissimmee Golf Club begins Sept. 24 at noon. The fee is $50 per person. Hole sponsorships are available.

Senior Games

The Kissimmee/St. Cloud Senior Games will return Sept. 10-17 at several sites in Osceola County.

Adults age 50 and over are eligible to participate in the games, which feature competition in events ranging from track and field, swimming and basketball to bridge, cribbage and poker.

The Kissimmee Convention and Visitors Bureau is sponsoring the event in conjunction with the Kissimmee, St. Cloud and Osceola County parks and recreation departments, the Osceola County Council on Aging, Good Samaritan Society Kissimmee Village, Solivita and the Osceola News-Gazette.

Participants at the Kissimmee/St. Cloud games can advance to state competition in Polk County in December and to national competitions.
