Juliard03_071411More than 500 students from Osceola County schools applied to participate in the Arts Intensive program at Horizon Middle School in Kissimmee. The program, which covers aspects of music, drama, painting and photography, is taught with the assistance of students of The Juilliard School in New York City.

Juliard01_071411The program, now in its second year, was the brainchild of former Horizon Middle School and current Juilliard student Evan Todd. Above, Osceola County School for the Arts students Sophia Diaz, foreground, and Lauren Bowen practice painting in short intervals as part of a visual arts exercise. At right, recent Osceola County School for the Arts graduate Eduardo Correa shows his interpretation of this summer's project theme, “Between the Lines.” Student work culminates today, with shows at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. For ticket information, call 407-943-7240.
