MLB Alumni Game
Past Houston Astros stars Bob Knepper, Kevin Bass, Glen Davis, Shane Reynolds and Dickie Thon return to Osceola County Stadium Wednesday to participate in the Major League Baseball Alumni All-Star Game.
Joining them will be about two dozen former big leaguers to take the field in the game benefitting the Osceola County Council on Aging.
Gates open at 4 p.m. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., preceded by a homerun hitting contest at 4:30.
Admission (ages 3 and up) is $10 and is available at Ticketmaster.com, Osceola County Stadium offices (weekdays) and at the Council on Aging.
Summer hoops
Gateway won the Osceola County Midnight League boys basketball championship over St. Cloud, 70-39, last week at New Dimensions High.
Gateway posted an 8-0 record during the three-week summer league season.
St. Cloud, 4-4, upset New Dimensions, 7-1, 70-60, in the semifinal round.
Gateway beat Celebration, 68-35, in the semifinals.
Also participating in the summer league were teams from Osceola, Harmony and Life Christian Academy.
OHS volleyball camp
Osceola High School will host the Carrie Palmi Volleyball Camp July 18-20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school gym for girls and boys ages 7 and up. Cost is $75 per camper and includes a T-shirt. Fundamentals of the game (hitting, defense, blocking, serving, setting, passing) will be stressed.

Heritage volleyball
Heritage Christian School will hold two volleyball camps.
The elementary camp for children in grades 1-5 is July 25-28 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the school’s gymnasium. The fee is $155 and includes a T-shirt.
The junior varsity-varsity camp for children in grades 6-12 is Aug. 1-4.
The fee is $125 and includes a T-shirt. This camp is mandatory for all Heritage Christian players.
The walk-up fee is an additional $10.
The camps are coached by Heritage Christian Coach Maria Hardwick.

Kiss. golf camp
The Kissimmee Golf Club will host golf a camp July 18-22 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Players ages 8-17 will be grouped by experience and receive instruction on skills, rules and etiquette. A tournament and awards luncheon will be held the final day of each camp. Fee is $95 per camp. Register by Wednesday at www.kissimmeeparks.org.
Red, White & Blue
Mystic Dunes will hold its fifth Annual "Red, White, and Blue" Invitational July 16. The four-man team scramble event begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Proceeds go to The Wounded Warrior Project.

Water polo, diving
Youth ages 8-18 may join Toho Water Polo or Dive Osceola offered at the Makinson Aquatic Center in association with the Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department.
No experience is necessary, but students must demonstrate swimming ability.

SC Aquatic Team
The St. Cloud Aquatic Team, a U.S.  Swimming affiliate, welcomes swimmers ages 5-and-over who have experience swimming the length of the pool with a crawl stroke.
All swimmers will participate in a training program focused on technique, en-durance and speed. If you are a high school student who wants to enhance your swimming skills and participate in a competitive swimming program then SCAT is the program for you. Poinciana Hoops
Poinciana Hoops is accepting registration for its recreational program which plays Saturdays at Poinciana High School.
Children ages 3-19 are eligible. Volunteer coaches are needed.
