Naomi Norris has filed to run for St. Cloud City Council seat 5, currently held by Jarom Fertic.

Norris relocated to Florida from New York City in 1994. She settled in Kissimmee and married a fourth-generation Floridian from the area. They have lived in St. Cloud since 2000.

Norris is a financial advisor and insurance agent with Norris Wealth Management. She said he has spent more than 17 years advising clients on fiscal responsibility and the benefits of proper planning and intends to use that knowledge to help St. Cloud, if elected.

“Moreover, I would like to help us capture some of the expected prosperity from the Lake Nona ‘Medical City’ area while managing growth in order to retain our small town charm,” she stated in an email.

Norris is an active member of the St. Cloud/Greater Osceola Chamber of Commerce and president of Lake Nona Business Partners Networking Group.

Qualifying for the Nov. 8 municipal election begins Aug. 15 at 8 a.m. and continues through Friday, Aug. 19, at 5 p.m.
