Chavarria All-Region

Former Harmony Longhorns shortstop Jorge Chavarria was named a National Christian College Athletic Association All-Region selection after his freshman season at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Chavarria started 50 of 53 games as a freshman and batted .298 with a team-high 17 doubles and carried a .930 fielding percentage.

Cruz All-Conference

Former Gateway High varsity baseball player Jose Cruz was named to the All-Southwest Athletic Conference (SWAC) second team as a catcher at Jackson State University in Mississippi this season.

GHS wrestlers

Gateway High wrestlers Alex Velez and Christian Vazquez have qualified for USA Wrestling national tournaments at Daytona Beach and Fargo, N. D., this summer.

Volleyball camp

High school Coach of the Year Ettie Singleton will run a volleyball camp beginning Monday through June 16 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Kissimmee Civic Center for children ages 7-16.

Campers will be instructed in fundamental skills and strategies. The fee is $55.

Baseball camp

Osceola High baseball coach Scott Birchler will hold a baseball camp at the Oak Streets complex Monday through June 17 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The fee is $55 for children ages 7-15. Register at www.kissimmeeparks.org.

SC tennis camp

The “To The Net” tennis camp for players ages 8-18 will be at St. Cloud High  Monday through June 17 from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

No experience or equipment is required. The fee is $50. St. Cloud coaches Tim McMullen and Dallas Kelsey will instruct. For more information, call McMullen at 407-891-3100 or email mcmullet@osceola.k12.fl.us.

Top Gun hoops camp

The 27th annual “Top Gun Shooting” youth basketball camp will be Monday through June 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the St. Cloud High gymnasium. Athletes will be grouped by age and gender and will receive a T-shirt.

The camp stresses shooting and understanding scoring opportunities. The fee is $75, and registration is available in advance or at the door. For more information, call Tim McMullen or Chad Ansbaugh at 407-891-3100 or email mcmullet@osceola.k12.fl.us.

SC baseball camp

Bulldogs baseball coach Mike McDaniel will host the St. Cloud 9 Baseball Camp June 27 to July 1 at St. Cloud High School. Ages 6-12 will go from 9 a.m. to noon and ages 13-16 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Fee is $75 per camper. For information call McDaniel at school at  407-891-3100 or email mcdaniem@osceola.k12.fl.us.

OHS volleyball camp

Osceola High School will host the Carrie Palmi Volleyball Camp July 18-20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school gym for girls and boys ages 7 and up. Cost is $75 per camper and includes a T-shirt. Fundamentals of the game (hitting, defense, blocking, serving, setting, passing) will be stressed.

Heritage volleyball

Heritage Christian School will hold two volleyball camps.

The elementary camp for children in grades 1-5 is July 25-28 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the school’s gymnasium. The fee is $155 and includes a T-shirt.

The junior varsity-varsity camp for children in grades 6-12 is Aug. 1-4.

The fee is $125 and includes a T-shirt. This camps is mandatory for all Heritage Christian players.

The walk-up fee is an additional $10.

The camps are coached by Heritage Christian Coach Maria Hardwick.

Kiss. golf camp

The Kissimmee Golf Club will host golf camps June 20-24 and July 18-22 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Players ages 8-17 will be grouped by experience and receive instruction on skills, rules and etiquette. A tournament and awards luncheon will be held the final day of each camp. Fee is $95 per camp.

Red, White & Blue

Mystic Dunes will hold its fifth Annual "Red, White, and Blue" Invitational July 16. The four-man team scramble event begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Proceeds go to The Wounded Warrior Project.

SC Aquatic Team

The St. Cloud Aquatic Team, a U.S. Swimming affiliate, welcomes swimmers ages 5-and-over who have experience swimming the length of the pool with a crawl stroke.

All swimmers will participate in a training program focused on technique, endurance and speed. If you are a new, experienced or high school student who wants to enhance your swimming skills and participate in a competitive swimming program then this is the program for you.

Water polo, diving

Youth ages 8-18 may join Toho Water Polo or Dive Osceola offered at the Makinson Aquatic Center.

No experience is necessary, but students must demonstrate swimming ability.
