Neptune is champ
Neptune Middle School (36) edged Horizon Middle (34) for the Osceola County Middle School Athletic Championship.

Neptune won championships in girls cross country, girls soccer, volleyball, girls basketball and girls track and field.
Horizon won championships in boys cross country, flag football, boys and girls wrestling, and boys track and field.
Other team champions were Parkway’s boys basketball team, Kissimmee Middle’s boys soccer team and St. Cloud Middle’s softball team.
Ballard MVP
Osceola High’s Alexa Ballard was named the MVP of the East team at the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Softball All-Star Classic at Ocala last week.
Ballard helped the East team reach the championship game, where she was 3-for-4 and hit a two-run homer.
PHS at Classic
Several members of the Poinciana High coaching staff will assist at the Golden South Classic track meet today at The First Academy.
Athletic Director Mal Harpell, coaches Rusty Gould, Bryan McLoughlin, Cory Fleming and Jason Bowe along with Megan Gould, Mike Fletcher and former Osceola assistant basketball coach Don Smith, now the athletic director at Crooms Academy, will participate.
Tynia Gaither, of Osceola, and Tyler Osorio, of Celebration, were invited to the Classic, but will not compete.
