Celebration senior Tyler Osorio won Class 3A state track championships Friday at 100 and 400 meters, the first track titles ever for a Storm athlete.

Osorio, bound for the University of Florida, was barely challenged in setting a personal record in the 100 (10.57) and winning the 400 (47.86) by nearly one second over D'Anthony Lewis of Pensacola Escambia at Winter Park's Showalter Field.

Celebration (22) placed sixth behind state champion Charlotte Punta Gorda (53).

Celebration's Quincy O'Connor placed seventh (4:20) at 1,600 meters, a personal record.

For Celebration's girls, pole vaulter Jessica Harter (11-0) was third.

The only other local athlete to place at the 3A state meet was Harmony discus thrower Kendall Pollock (103-6), who was eighth.

Harmony's Matt Henning was ninth (9:42.26), one spot away from placing, at 3,200 meters.

Fourteen athletes from St. Cloud competed at the state meet.

Osceola, Gateway and Liberty are represented at the Class 4A meet today (Saturday) at Showalter Field.

Osceola sprinter Tynia Gaither will attempt to defend her 100 and 200 meters state championships. She is hampered by a pulled hamstring, Coach Eric Pinellas said. Running finals begin at 7 p.m.

Osceola's 4 x 100 relay is the No. 1 seed.
