It was a record-setting day for the Celebration boys track team, which won its first district championship Wednesday at the 3A-6 meet at St. Cloud High.

The host Lady Bulldogs (160.5) also had a banner district meet, easily winning over second-place Oviedo (106).

Celebration (74), Edgewater (73), Harmony (69), Oak Ridge (62), Seabreeze (52), Mainland (33) and New Smyrna Beach (25.5) followed.

The top four in each event advanced to the regional meet Thursday at Harmony.

Celebration (152), with two potential state champions in sprinter Tyler Osorio and distance runner Quincy O’Connor, beat Edgewater (128) for the championship. Harmony (93), Oviedo (66), Daytona Beach Seabreeze (62), New Smyrna Beach (48), Oak Ridge (40), St. Cloud and Daytona Beach Mainland (tie, 33) rounded out the scoring.

Celebration’s Osorio, a senior who has signed to the University of Florida, won the 100 meters (10.64, a personal best) and the 400 meters (49.53) championships, and finished third (42-03) in the triple jump. Teammate Hensley Hollingworth (42-04) was second in the triple jump.

O’Connor won the 1,600 (4:28) and 3,200 (9:44) championships. He and Osorio joined Foster Starks and John Raemisch on the 4 x 400 relay (3:26.19) that placed second.

Zach Dyer won district titles in the discus (135-0) and shot put (44-4). Celebration’s Zack Brown (5-10) won the high jump.

“We had a pretty motivated group of seniors after a close second at OBCs,” Storm Coach Joel Fox said. “We felt like we were favorites going in, but Edgewater has a pretty talented group of athletes.”

St. Cloud’s girls turned in a balanced effort that saw victories in the distance races, relays, hurdles and field events.

Ashlyn Stadtlander won the 3,200 (12:16) and placed second (5:39) at 1,600 meters for St. Cloud.

Freshman Kirsten Chambers (16.45) won the high hurdles ahead of teammate Yazmeilis Santos (16.74).

Cierra Adams (34-0) won the shot put.

Adams ran on the winning 4 x 100 relay (51.51) with Santos, Ishanay Pacheco and Jennifer Fullwood.

St. Cloud’s 4 x 400 relay (4:08.70) with Anaya Reid, Jaquita Manning, Diana Gatlin and Fullwood also won.

The Lady Bulldogs 4 x 800 relay (10:00.54) was second with Ashlyn Stadtlander, Katelyn Stadtlander, Kristen Detroyer and Reid.

“I am definitely super excited for the girls. They did a great job all over the place,” Coach Ettie Singleton said.

Other girls district champions included Celebration pole vaulter Jessica Harter (10-0) and Harmony discus thrower Kendall Pollock (108-0).

Harmony’s Daniel Foshee (15.31) won the 110 hurdles and placed second (40.62) in the 300 hurdles. The Horns’ Trevor Haydel (10-6) won a tie with Edgewater’s Paul Rice for the pole vault crown.

St. Cloud’s 4 x 800 relay (8:14.80) won with Sean Wood, Bailey Morgan, Shayne Cole and Carlos Perez.

St. Cloud boys track coach Kevin Harkema said the boys and girls 4 x 800 relays can advance to the state meet May 6 at Winter Park.

“They are both close to the school records. I think we can get them down a few more seconds for the regional next week,” he said.

Other regional meet qualifiers are:
