Osceola jumped to a 3-0 lead and shortstop Nicole Osterman homered in the Lady Kowboys 4-3 win over Bradford Starke in the consolation round of the Kissimmee Klassic softball tournament Friday at the Osceola County Softball Complex.

Osceola plays again Saturday at 9:45 a.m. in the gold bracket.

Chantal Crockett, Jessica Callahan and Carmen Nadal also had run-producing hits for the Lady Kowboys, 14-3.

Sasha Mendez pitched 4 1/3 innings to earn the win. Morgan Crapo earned a save.

Osceola lost its opening-round game against Naples Gulf Coast, 5-2, after the Sharks scored four times in the sixth inning to erase a 2-1 OHS lead.

The Lady Kowboys scored both runs in the first inning when Osterman walked and scored on Alexa Ballard’s double. Nadal’s double drove in Ballard.

The Sharks sixth-inning rally was aided by three OHS errors.

Klassic games Saturday begin at 8 a.m. The championship games in the blue, gold and white brackets begin at 6:30 p.m.

Several teams at the 38-team tournament played three times Friday after Thursday’s first round games were postponed by rain.

Admission is $9.
