The Dark side tops in Senior All-Star basketball games PDF Print E-mail

Both the boys and girls basketball games came down to the final shot in the Osceola County Senior All-Star Game on Saturday at Osceola High School.

In the boys game, the Dark team held a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter, but had to weather a comeback from the White team to hold on for a 96-94 victory.

Erick Marino (Gateway) led the Dark team with 27 points. Jens Soto (St. Cloud) and Maynard Rowe (Heritage Christian) added 18 and 14 points. Jedarian Jackson (Osceola, game MVP) led the White team and all scorers with 29, with Osanto Marc (Poinciana) and Antonio Benitez (Osceola) adding 12.

In the girls game, the Dark team won, 40-38, behind the Celebration High sister act of Julianna (21 points, game MVP) and Monique (10) Milan. Felisha Lugo (Poinciana, 10 points) and Amber Paige and Maria Lopez of Osceola (9).

Mark Pearson, of Celebration, and Yaritza Tejada of Liberty won the 3-point shooting contests.
