Kissimmee resident Yousef Altuwaijri, 25, died Monday from injuries he received in a two-vehicle crash March 12 on Colonial Drive near Belvedere Road in Orange County.

Altuwaijri was a passenger in a 1999 Honda Accord driven by Luay Sami S. Tayeb, 19, also of Kissimmee. The driver received minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Hamoud Alobaidallah, 21, a second passenger in the car and also of Kissimmee, received minor injuries and also was taken to ORMC.

The second vehicle in-volved in the crash, a 2000 GMC sports utility vehicle, was driven by Sahrina Rauch, 29, of Rockledge. She received minor injuries and also was taken to ORMC. Passenger, Sophia Reiss, also of Rockledge, received minor injuries and was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at about 11:40 p.m. Tayeb was traveling east on Colonial Drive in the right through-lane at a high rate of speed while Rauch was traveling west on the roadway in the left through-lane. Tayeb lost control of his vehicle and traveled through the median and entered the westbound lanes.

The front of Rauch’s vehicle struck the right rear of Tayeb’s vehicle, making it overturn. Altuwaijri died at ORMC from his injuries.
