A head-on collision about 3:20 a.m. Thursday morning on Poinciana Boulevard at Golden Beach Court claimed two lives.

One of the fatalities was a passenger in a 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by Russell Honore, 25, of Kissimmee. Honore was critically injured in the crash and taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center. The passenger, who was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.

Michael Woodward, 44, of Kissimmee, the driver of the second vehicle, a 1992 Lincoln Towncar, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Honore was southbound on Poinciana Boulevard and Woodward was northbound. For an unknown reason, Honore's vehicle traveled into the northbound lane of the roadway, with the front of the Impala colliding with the front of the Towncar. Following the collision, Honore's vehicle rotated counterclockwise and came to rest facing north, partially in the southbound lane. Woodward's vehicle was pushed backward and came to rest facing northwest, partially in the northbound lane of the roadway and partially on the shoulder.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
