Sheen sets an example

To the editor:

I hope and pray that people all over the world use Charlie Sheen as an example as what can happen to a brilliant mind when they choose to do cocaine or any kind of drug that eventually is going to deplete the brain cells and kill them.

They will become hostile, incoherent and sometimes choose to commit crimes against society. Even if you have the greatest job or status, you can lose it all even your family. They can commit murder to feed their drug habit or even kill themselves. They lose respect for mankind and only think of themselves, like where their next high is coming from. They will never have a normal life unless they get professional treatment, eventually destroying any chances of becoming a good, productive citizen.

I say to those criminals who are pushing drugs to innocent human beings no matter the age: The justice system is coming after you and eventually they will lock you up where the sunshine won’t shine again , so beware — you will be caught .

Tired of boo-hoos

To the editor:

I am sick and tired of all the boo-hoos complaining about the Osceola County School Board.

First, you have Mr. (Mike) Jackson’s comments (March 5) on how disappointed he is about the behavior of the School Board when he complains about how the last few meetings went down.

But I also didn't see where he once commented on the fact that Mr. (Jay) Wheeler hasn't been showing his professionalism when he stormed out of a meeting and some of his actions prior to that incident. How Mr. Wheeler wouldn't even listen to the comments people and students had when it came to uniforms, how he went on a local TV station and basically called us "losers" because we, the parents, spent all our money on "beer, cigarettes and cable" and we didn't have money to buy uniforms. But who spent money from his campaign on his own personal cable bill?

So, Mr. Jackson, just because you live in the same area as Mr. Wheeler and used to be a president of a Fortune 50 with a 30-year career, do you really think people care? And if you know so much about leadership, why didn't you run for district 1 so we could have lost Mr. Wheeler?

And for Ms. (Lisa) Liu (March 5) , did you personally see Ms. (Cindy) Hartig holding his contract over Mr. (Michael) Grego’s head, or is it Mr. Grego knows he did wrong and that is why he commented on that in the board meeting, because the way I see it, Ms. Hartig is trying to clean up and get the people who should do their job to be accountable and that, my dear, does include the superintendent.

Case in point, the sloppy and shoddy job that was done over at Thacker Elementary School and Ms. Hartig kept asking Mr. Grego to show her his “logs and anything pertaining to the work" and also the inept work of the so-called building inspector. So, Ms. Liu, the great and mighty Mr. Grego is to blame for his actions.

It seems to me that both Mr. Jackson and Ms. Liu don't take kindly that there's a person in charge who wants all to be accountable for everything and anything and that, Mr. Jackson, is how businesses should be run.
