The winning team at the annual Ranch Rodeo on Feb. 26 in Kenansville was the Diamond S Cattle Company.

Hundreds of spectators watched and cheered on 10 ranching teams during the third annual Ranch Rodeo sponsored by the Osceola County Cattlemen’s Association and held Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Silver Spurs Riding Club’s Kenansville Arena.
The top prize at the rodeo went to the Diamond S Cattle Company, which earned a spot at the state Cattlemen’s Association rodeo at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee set for the fall of 2011. Second place in the rodeo went to the Kenansville Misfits and third place to the Desert Citrus & Cattle Company.
The main sponsor of the Ranch Rodeo was Kissimmee Valley Feed and Ranch Supply Store. Supporting sponsors included S&K Sod and Shearing Plough Animal Health. Supporters were A&B Well Drilling, Commerce Court Cabinets, Everglades Tractor, House of Envy, Kenansville Country Store, Large Animal Associates, Lextron Animal Health, Lynch Oil, Florida Farm Bureau,

Team-Sorting

The winner of the team sorting event was the Snake Horse and Cattle Company.

According to Wendi Jeannin, spokesperson for the Silver Spurs Riding Club, the Osceola County Cattlemen’s Association is an organization dedicated to the betterment and preservation of Osceola County’s cattle industry. Through education, charitable giving, scholarships, marketing and other donations, the association strives to make a positive difference for local cattlemen as well as the community.
