The Florida Lottery today announced that the $182 million jackpot from the Powerball drawing on  Feb. 26, was claimed by Ines Carvajal, 69, of Kissimmee, as agent for the Carvajal Family Group. Carvajal will receive a one-time, lump-sum payment for the winnings in the amount of $91,187,716.61.
According to Carvajal, she was at Publix with her sister, who was purchasing a Scratch-Off ticket, when she remembered to check her
Powerball tickets. Carvajal said she could not believe it when she found out that she held the jackpot-winning ticket and that plans to share her winnings
with her family.
The winning ticket was purchased at Publix, located at 2340 Fortune Road, in Kissimmee. The Florida Lottery
retailer received a bonus incentive of $65,000 for selling the top-prize
winning ticket.
The Feb. 26 lottery had more than 224,000 winners.
Powerball jackpots start at $20 million and increase with each
rollover. The multi-state, mega-jackpot game also offers an add-on
feature called Power Play that gives players a chance to win up to $1
million. With the purchase of a Powerball ticket, players can add Power
Play for $1 more per play to multiply their non-jackpot prize winnings
by up to five times. Power Play purchasers who match five numbers win $1
million - the Powerball match 5 prize multiplied by five. All other
non-jackpot prizes will be multiplied by the Power Play number, from 2
through 5, selected at draw time.

Since Powerball ticket sales in Florida began on Jan.4, 2009,
Florida has the most Powerball winners of any state. More than 21
million Florida Lottery players have won more than $473 million in
Powerball prizes; with 126 players have won $200,000 level, 26 winners
at the $1 million prize level and four lucky jackpot winners. The next
Powerball drawing will be Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET with
a $ 25 million jackpot.
