CHS tennis wins

The Celebration boys and girls tennis teams defeated Poinciana by scores of 7-0.

Singles winners for the Celebration girls, Nos. 1-5: Anu Gupta (6-1, 6-1) over Jacqueline Renterias; Lexi Stephan (6-0, 6-0) Katelyn Rice; Yuka Moribe (6-0, 6-1) over Estefany Abastida; Kelsey Scurlock (6-0, 6-0) over Nathally De Vasconcelos and Maria Caicedo-Arias (6-1, 6-0) over Melissa Burset.

Gupta-Moribe (8-2) and Stephan-Scurlock (8-0) won doubles matches.

Winners for the Storm boys, Nos. 1-5: Tyler Young (6-0, 6-0) over Clarke Feeney; Richard Cruz (6-1, 6-0) over Jeremy Gopaul; Jacob Glodde (6-0, 6-1) over Daniel Salas; Luis Penagos (6-0, 6-0) over Brandon Stillword and Elijah Lewis (6-0, 6-0) over Stephen Holt.

Young-Glodde (8-1) and Cruz-Penagos (8-1) were doubles winners.

SC mens hoops

The St. Cloud Parks and Recreation 5-on-5 spring basketball league for men ages 18 and up begins March 15. Team packets are available for pickup at the St. Cloud Civic Center.

Games will be played Tuesdays at 7 p.m. The maximum number of players per team is 10. All team rosters and payments are due by March 4. Cost per team is $250.

SC wrestling club

The Soldier City Wrestling Club for children ages 6-18 meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the St. Cloud High gym beginning March 1.

The fee is $60, which includes a USA Wrestling card, insurance, T-shirt and shorts.

The club concludes its season June 30.

Registration is available at the first practice.

CHS golf tourney

The Celebration High School football program will host the inaugural Storm Golf Tournament April 30 at Celebration Golf Club at 8 a.m. Proceeds will be used to purchase needed equipment.

The four-man, shotgun-start event is $150 per player and includes a pairings party with dinner April 29, all fees, lunch, a pro shop coupon and a free wedge. Hole and event sponsors, as well as sponsorships for the 2011 football season, are also available.

Falcon’s Fire golf

Falcon’s Fire Golf Club is offering its “Hat’s Off” promotion through March 31.

Golfers wearing their favorite team’s baseball hat will receive a special rate of $99 for greens fees between 7 and 8 a.m.
