Are the Daku family from Celebration $100,00 richer this weekend?

You will have to tune into WRDQ (Channel 27) Monday to see how the family did on Family Feud. The long-running TV game show is currently filming at Universal Studios.

The Daku family will face off with the Douglas family from Ocoee in a quest for that $100,000 prize.

The Daku family includes which includes Bridget, an operations manager; sister Danielle, an office manager; sister Christa who trained her pet turtle to go on walks; husband Todd, a consultant; and father Tom, captain in the Merchant Marines – will be aiming for the cash prize, plus a brand new car when they appear with the show host Steve Harvey on on the popular family game show, taped in front of a live studio audience at Universal Studios in Orlando.

“We are all about having fun and trying new things, so we knew we had to try out when we heard about the ‘Family Feud’ auditions,” said Christa. “If we win we want to take a big family vacation and donate to our favorite charities for breast cancer awareness and organ donation.”

Family Feud has a new host, Steve Harvey, for its 12th season in syndication. Harvey is a multi-talented actor, comedian, radio personality and best-selling author. One of the original Kings of Comedy, Harvey brings his ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ brand of humor the show’s new home at Universal. Families travel from all over the country to compete for a fantastic prize on the set of Family Feud, and have a great bonding experience while they’re at it. When the show is over, fans can connect for breaking news on Twitter (@Family_Feud), find outtakes and behind the scenes footage on YouTube (www.youtube.com/family feud<http://www.youtube .com/familyfeud>) and even face off against friends and family on Facebook.

To secure their spot on the show, the Daku family called the Family Feud hotline to begin the process. Other contestant hopefuls can also call the show’s hotline at 407-224-3410 for an interview.

Sherry Thomas, of Kissimmee, will be wheeling and dealing on Let’s Make a Deal.

Thomas will be hoping to win a great prize behind one of the show’s famous doors or curtains and hopefully avoid a Zonk along the way. Thomas will appear on Let’s Make a Deal, Friday, Feb. 11.

Let’s Make a Deal is shown locally Monday-Friday at 10 a.m. on WKMG (Channel 6).

One of the most popular game shows in TV history, the new host of the one-hour version of the show is Emmy Award-winner Wayne Brady.

The original Let’s Make a Deal was a television game show staple during the 1960s and 70s when it was hosted by Monty Hall from 1963-1977. While later versions aired in syndication and primetime, the game show is best remembered for the years hosted by

Hall, who serves as a creative consultant on this latest version.

Julian Fellowes will continue as the writer for upcoming series, and members of the “superstar” cast have committed to the second season, among them Dame Maggie Smith. Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern will also return as Lord and Lady Grantham.
