Osceola County Sheriff’s Office detectives with the Tourist Policing Unit have arrested Marvin Brown, Antoine Smith and Marquitta Brown, all of Orlando, and charged them with trafficking in stolen property and grand theft.

The investigation began Jan. 21 when unit detectives began conducting an undercover investigation in the area of Crystal Cove after receiving numerous reports of residential burglaries.

Marvin Brown, 20, of 6124 Shadow Woods Court, Orlando, was identified leaving an attempted burglary site, driving a red Chevy Impala. Several days later, detectives observed Marvin Brown, Marquitta Brown, 19, also of 6124 Shadow Woods Court, Orlando, and Antoine Smith, 22, of 2138 Fiesta Court, Orlando, driving to Babies/Toys R Us at 4607 Millennia Plaza Boulevard and stealing numerous boxes of baby diapers. The suspects drove to the Winsor Cove Apartments in Orlando and sold the diapers to residents.

And on Jan. 26, detectives followed the suspects to the Babies R Us again. When they exited the store with the stolen diapers, detectives attempted to arrest the suspects, but they fled on foot. A short distance later, they were located and placed into custody.

All three suspects were booked into the Orange County Jail and charged with trafficking in stolen property, grand theft and resisting without violence. Marvin Brown also was charged with residential burglary and violation of probation for a drug-related charge. The investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending.
