Four St. Cloud men were involved in a single-vehicle crash on Florida's Turnpike early Friday morning, killing two of them, a report from the Florida Highway Patrol states.
The driver, Jared Krause, 22, and a passenger, John Deyoung, 20, both were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The Highway Patrol identified the two deceased men as Robert Arena, 22, and Travis "Corey" Parker, 20, early Friday afternoon.
Just after 2:45 a.m., Krause was driving his 2002 Cadillac Escalade south on the turnpike when he lost control near mile marker 257, two miles south of the I-4 interchange, according to the report.
The sports-utility vehicle swerved right onto the grass shoulder and struck a lightpole. The vehicle continued traveling away from the road and struck several trees, causing the SUV to overturn on the shoulder, the report states.
During the crash, two of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle. One of the ejected men was pronounced dead at the scene, as was one of the passengers inside the vehicle.
None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol report.
No charges have been filed and investigators are awaiting the results of the toxicology report to determine if alcohol played a role in the accident.
