It's the internet that sunk a thousand ships.

But the Disney Dream sails on,  surfing a wave of web mediocrity.

All is well though. Castaway Cay, Disney's getaway island, has lots of new improvements since I explored it last.  There are more ways to get around in and out of the water. And several shopping opportunities.

It was a warm day in the Bahamas, great for swimming, snorkeling, boating and other aquatic offerings found throughout the island play place. And a barbecue lunch as well.

Back on board ship, there was the premiere of  Disney's Believe at the quite amazing Walt Disney Theater, the new show place for shows on the seas.

Believe has a high points for sure. The mix and match of live performances of songs from The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Jungle Book and more is a joy to behold when it is clicking, and it usually is.

There wasn't too much of a time gap between the show because dinner is awaiting. Our restaurant for the night was The Royal Palace, a posh-looking place inspired by both Disney princesses and the Versailles. Since your serving staff  "follows you" each night to the next restaurant, it becomes a pretty friendly relationship.

With dinner out of the way, it was time for a visit to The District, the adult playground on the Disney Dream. Several bars and lounges await, with probably something to suit anyone looking for a cool way to unwind after several hours on the beach and on board.

The evening highlight was the Skyline Lounge, a fairly intimate kind of place that features large images of different cities around the world in a kind of panoramic view. The city changes every ten minutes or so. The drink selections are also concoctions with names inspired by New York, Chicago, Paris and Hong Kong.

After a drink, it is time to catch the fireworks show up on the upper decks of the ship, inspired by  Pirates of the Caribbean. Hey, it's a Disney ship, you were expecting Harry Potter wizardry?  The last night of the cruise has a pirate theme throughout the evening, with pirate shows and parties. The fireworks show, they say, is the first of its kind for a cruise ship and it certainly was a great way to cap of cruise.

We tried one more late option after midnight, a late showing of Tron: Legacy at the Buena Vista Theatre. It was kind of nice to see Tron at midnight on board a ship. But it still bores me.

There was actually one another late night movie option as well on one of those upper pool side decks: an outside screening of the first Pirates of the Caribbean. It looked a lot more watchable than Tron, but it was getting close to 1 a.m., and a pirate's  life just wasn't for me anymore.
