The city of Kissimmee has named Preeti Tuladhar as the employee of the month for January.
Tuladhar has worked for the city for more than four years as a graphic information system analyst with the Information Technology department.
According to a city press release, Tuladhar performs countless hours of detailed work updating and supporting the city’s GIS applications. She is responsible for the maps and addresses used by the emergency-911 dispatch; the mapping in the police and fire vehicles; and the Toho Water Authority GIS, which is available on the Internet.
Tuladhar's dedication and attention to detail is evidenced in the high quality and accuracy of the data, city officials said. Several consultants have remarked that the city’s GIS system is the best they have seen. Recently, she represented the city in the Central Florida GIS Map competition, placing first with a Kissimmee city map entry.
Tuladhar is a highly valued member of the I.T. Department and works well within the team to get the end user’s needs met quickly and effectively, the press release stated. She has a positive attitude and doesn’t complain, even when there are numerous demands being placed on her simultaneously.
Employees and external agencies often praise Tuladhar's contributions and also say she is a great teacher, which is a major part of her role, city officials said.
