Gateway High students and staff contributed blankets, towels and food to support the Osceola Animal Control Shelter as an annual project conducted by the school under the leadership of Nilda Silen, teacher at the school.
A certificate of appreciation was presented to the school by the Director of the Animal Shelter James Radebaugh to students and staff.
National and state winners for
Empower3000
Two Gateway High School students were recently recognized by Achieve3000 for having the most computer program usage over Winter Break.  
Aland Qader had the most points for a single day on Dec. 21 of any student in the nation, as well as the state of Florida.
Helen Qader also was recognized for having the highest weekly points in the state for the week of Dec. 20-24.
The two students were recognized by the school for their extra efforts, outside of school. Empower3000 is a computerized reading program that can be accessed through the Internet.  
Spirit Night
The next Gateway High School Spirit Night will be at Cici's Pizza, located near the Mill Creek Mall, on Feb. 3.  This event will salute the Panther Paws Dance Team and supports the school’s partnership with Cici's Pizza.  The event begins at 4:30 p.m. and will end at 9 p.m.  Come out and enjoy the lively atmosphere and great food.
