The Silver Spurs Riding Club will honor two supporters during a dedication ceremony today at 7 p.m at the Silver Spurs headquarters, 589 First Ave., in Kenansville.

Since 1982, the Spurs’ cowboys have been honored by being named a Coca Cola Cowboy. This year, Jim Purcell will be recognized in the ongoing tradition.

The Lifetime Achievement award winner will be Sandra Beach Purcell. This acknowledgment started in 1992.

Each year, the club’s board of directors names the recipients: the Coca Cola Cowboy is chosen from past Big Bosses and founding members; the Lifetime Achievement honors the women of the club who have dedicated time and effort to keep their heritage alive.
