SC Little League

St. Cloud Cloud Little League will hold registration from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today, Jan. 15 and Jan. 22 at the concession stand.

Tryouts for competitive divisions are Jan. 15 and Jan. 22. Register online at www.stcloudll.org. Rec basketball

The city of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department is holding registration for the Kissimmee Youth Basketball League.

The fee is $60, which includes a jersey.

Practices begin Monday.  The season is from Jan. 22 to Feb. 26.  Practice will be held one night a week at Denn John Middle School Gym, with games played on Saturdays at the Kissimmee Civic Center. Call 407-518-2504 for more information.

Volunteer coaches (must be adults) are needed. Call Emily Salzman (407-518-2346) for information.

Spring softball

The city of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for the 2011 spring softball season.

The registration deadline is Jan. 21. Leagues for men, women and co-ed leagues are offered.  Fees range from $275 to $400 per team. Registration is accepted Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 6 p.m. or Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. at the Fortune Road Athletic Complex. Osc. Youth Softball

The Osceola Youth Softball League will hold registration for the spring season at Oren Brown Park, 3511 Baker Dr., Kissimmee (off Hoagland Boulevard) for girls ages 4-14 from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 15, 22 and 29.

Fees are $70 per player which includes jersey and field equipment. All new players must provide a copy of their birth certificate to register. Coaches and assistant coaches are needed. Come-n-Try Day on Jan. 22 is for new players to try pitching, catching, and batting skills. All new players must attend assessment day on Jan. 29: ages 8-U at 10 a.m.; ages 10-U at 11 a.m. and ages 14-U at noon.

Umpires Clinic

The city of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department will host an Umpires Clinic today at 8:30 a.m. at the Fortune Road Softball Complex. This free clinic is for anyone interested in becoming a softball umpire for the 2011 spring season. The clinic will be led by United States Specialty Sports Association Umpire-In-Chief Rick Robertson. For more information, contact Josue Gonzalez, softball coordinator at 407-518-2346.
