Osceola County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Brent Thomas Galbraith Dec. 22 and charged him with 280 counts of domestic sexual battery after a 14-year-old girl reported sexual abuse dating back from when she was a toddler.

The victim reported the abuse Dec. 21 and based on the information, Galbraith, 38, who resides at 4881 Chisholm Road, St. Cloud, was arrested and charged with 280 counts of domestic sexual battery.

Galbraith was originally arrested in October 2009 and charged with four counts of lewd and lascivious battery and one count of child abuse after the same girl reported the sexual abuse. Galbraith is a family member of the victim, Twis Lizasuain, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said.

In December 2009, Galbraith was convicted of two counts of lewd and lascivious battery and was registered as a sex offender and sentenced to 10 years of probation.

In addition, Galbraith was under investigation for burglary and video voyeurism after a father reported finding hidden video cameras in his teenage daughter’s bedroom. The case was reported in August 2009 and, at the time, Galbraith, a neighbor of the 17-year-old victim, cooperated with detectives and provided details about setting up the cameras.

Galbraith was charged with video voyeurism and burglary in that case, which is being handled by the Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office, Lizasuain said.

Galbraith is being held without bond at the Osceola County Jail.
