Kissimmee police officers arrested a Kissimmee firefighter for allegedly stealing prescription drugs after a female coworker discovered some of her medication missing.

On Dec. 24, officers responded to Kissimmee Fire Station 12, 1403 Denn John Lane, in reference to a theft. Officers spoke with the victim, a female firefighter, who told them that she had noticed some of her prescription medication was missing. During the investigation, officers questioned Michael Charland, 27, about the missing pills.

Charland cooperated with the officers and was charged with burglary to a dwelling and petit theft. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $3,750 bond. He has since posted bail.

The Kissimmee Fire Department has suspended Charland without pay pending the outcome of the criminal case.
