Osceola County will be sending 35 middle and high school music students to participate in the Florida Music Educator Association’s All-State Music Concerts.
With the addition of nine elementary students, a total of 16 Osceola schools have been selected for an All-State performing group this year. The selection process for All-State is highly competitive, and only the finest young musicians from throughout Florida are invited to participate.
The following All-State students will be representing Osceola County at the Florida Music Educator Association's 67th Annual Inservice Clinic-Conference on Jan. 12-15, at the Tampa Convention Center:

Students will spend two to three days in rehearsals with world-renowned conductors /clinicians. The rehearsals will culminate in performances of excellence attended by more than 7,500 music educators and parents. The senior All-State ensembles will be performing at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center Saturday, Jan. 15.
“The long-term effects of a music education received in consecutive years have been well documented to show improved achievement in all academic areas,” Superintendent Michael A. Grego said. “Both state and national data continue to show that the more arts credits students achieve, the better student achievement on SAT and FCAT tests and a greater likelihood of high school graduation.”
