Ice! is twice as nice at Gaylord Palms Resort.
The popular frigid attraction has a complete makeover and new look for 2010, and now there is even more “cool” to enjoy, a second attraction, Snow!
This year's Ice!, life-size 3-D scenes carved from more than two million pounds of ice by 40 skilled artisans from the International Snow & Ice Festival in China, has a storybook feel taken directly from the pages of the storybook poem,  “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

Each ice sculpture scene at Ice! was inspired by the early 19th century poem, attributed to Clement Clarke Moore.
The poem has been portrayed in various form since it was first published on December 23, 1823 in the Troy, N.Y. Sentinel. The poem has appeared in film, radio and television, comics and computer games, but this is the first time the story has been told in a frozen, nine-degree ice sculpture attraction, Jeff Abbaticchio, director of public relations at Gaylord Palms said.
Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, the sled and reindeer are all portrayed in colorful carved ice displays.
The Ice! finale is a nativity scene carved in crystal clear ice.
And there is still more to Ice! after the finale. The Grand Christmas Hall includes four  slippery ice slides for both children and adults.
Despite those frigid temperatures, Ice! guests can stay warm thanks to to parkas provided at the start of the frigid adventure. But you may want to bring your own gloves for to prevent frigid fingers.
Nearby is the very first year for Snow! a 10,000 square-foot ice carnival that includes a snow play area, carnival games and carnival-themed food options.
Inside Snow! guests will find a Kiddie Snow Tube Run, the snow play area and games such as Flip a Penguin, Elf Bowling and Ring Around Frosty.
It is cool in Snow!, but not as cold as Ice!  Temperatures will range from 35 to 60 degrees,   Abbaticchio said, so heavy coats are not required, but gloves are a necessity for the snow.
Also available at Snow! are  several frosty treats such as snowberries, snow cones, cotton candy and hot roasted chestnuts.
Hot chocolate, tea and apple cider are provided at the end of Ice!
Tickets to Ice! range from $9.99 to $25.99 depending on the type of ticket and day of the week. Admission to Snow! is $7.49 Monday-Thursday and $9.99 Friday-Sunday with the purchase of an Ice! ticket. Discounted Ice! tickets are available online at www.gaylordpalms.com/christmas.
Inside the Gaylord Palms Resort there are more holiday treats including the Luminescence musical stage show featuring high-tech aerial choreography, Christmas Wonders stage review and the tree lighting ceremony.
Special events during holidays include:
The Latin celebration Noche Latina at Ice!, Dec 3. The after-hours event includes a special pre-show hosted by a Latino storyteller, who will share short stories about Christmas in Puerto Rico and  Latin American countries.
The Orlando Polar Bear Club's plunge through Ice! wearing nothing but bathing suits, Saturday, Dec. 4.
