The Osceola Center for the Arts, in conjunction with a matching donation from The National Arts Program, awarded four art class scholarships to the People’s Choice Award winners for the Oct. 5-Nov. 7 N.A.P. art exhibit for employees and family members of the Osceola County School District and the center.
The winners were chosen by public audiences during the exhibit by filling out a ballot card at the center.
The overall People’s Choice Award winner is Harmony High School teacher, Melinda Barrett DeYoung, who will receive a ribbon and a $100 scholarship for an eight-week session of art class at The Osceola Center for the Arts. Additional art class scholarship winners are: Bradley Kibbe III, 13, for the teen division and there was a tie for Youth Under 12 for winners Jailisse Rosario, 11, and Isaiah Martin, 7, each of whom will also receive a full art class scholarship.
“The National Arts Program Art Exhibit is held each year in October and has been a great benefit to our school district for six years now. We look forward to this program growing in coming years,” Visual Arts Director Jules Davidson said.
The center is at 2411 E. U.S. Highway 192, Kissimmee. For more information, visit www.ocfta.com or call 407-846-6257.
