KUA specialist named Microsoft most valuable player

Microsoft Corp. recently announced that Kissimmee Utility Authority Internet application specialist Rob Morris has been named a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for 2010.
This is the eighth consecutive year he has earned the prestigious MVP designation. The Microsoft MVP Award (http://mvp.support.microsoft.com) is an annual award that recognizes exceptional technology community leaders worldwide who actively share their high quality, real-world expertise with users and with Microsoft. Worldwide, there are more than 100 million participants in technical communities; of these participants, there are fewer than 5,000 active Microsoft MVPs. Morris received his recognition in the category of digital media experience and is one of only seven individuals worldwide to be honored in the category this year.
“Rob is one of technology’s best and brightest,” Jef Gray, KUA’s vice president of information technology, said. “We congratulate him for again being recognized as one of the leaders in the worldwide digital media community.”
To recognize the contributions they make, MVPs from around the world have the opportunity to meet Microsoft executives, network with peers and position themselves as technical community leaders. This is accomplished through speaking engagements, one-on-one customer event participation and technical content development. MVPs also receive early access to technology through a variety of programs offered by Microsoft, which keeps them on the cutting edge of the software and hardware industry. Microsoft began issuing the MVP awards more than 16 years ago to honor individual users across 90 countries for their outstanding contributions to the Microsoft community. Morris began his career at KUA in 1998.
