St. Cloud resident arrested in armed robbery at Circle K

Ramon Rodriguez-Aviles Jr., 21, of 4705 Sparrow Drive, St. Cloud, was arrested Sunday by St. Cloud police for armed robbery, aggravated assault, committing a first-degree felony while wearing a mask, battery, conspiracy to commit an armed robbery and accessory after the fact for his involvement in a robbery at the Circle K at 2901 Canoe Creek Road, St. Cloud.
A juvenile also involved in the robbery faces similar charges; his identity was not released by St. Cloud police. The status of a third person involved in the incident also was not released.
At approximately 2:45 a.m. Sunday, St. Cloud Police received a 911 call about a suspicious person carrying a mask, walking toward the Circle K. As the patrol officers responded to the scene, the caller reported the male entered the store with a ski mask and pointed a firearm at those inside. A customer in the store was able to disarm the suspect during a physical altercation that continued outside the store.
As the customer was struggling with the suspect, a St. Cloud Police officer arrived. The suspect fled from the officer on foot. The suspect jumped into a black Honda with two other occupants. The vehicle was later located and stopped. Two occupants of the car were detained in the vehicle and the third suspect fled on foot.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist with aviation and K-9 units and the third subject was apprehended.
The investigation is ongoing and St. Cloud police stated the suspects might have been involved in similar incidents in the county.
