The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday arrested the woman who was wanted for robbing a taxicab driver at knifepoint Oct. 28.

Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 25-year-old Dana Monishia Stewart, of Kissimmee, after receiving information she was the suspect involved in the armed robbery.

At about 10:43 p.m. on the night of the robbery, deputies responded to the Buena Vista Motel, 5200 W. U.S. Highway 192, Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the taxicab driver, who said he was approached by a woman at a Walmart store, 3250 Vineland Road, who needed a ride to the motel. The woman entered the vehicle and sat directly behind the driver. When they arrived at the motel, the suspect lunged forward and placed a knife against the driver’s throat while demanding money and the keys to the taxicab, Sheriff’s Office reports said. She fled the area through the parking lot on foot and northbound near the highway.

Stewart was arrested for armed robbery, petit theft, aggravated battery and false imprisonment. She was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
