Cross country teams from three county schools and a potential individual state champion from a fourth compete today at regional meets.

St. Cloud’s boys and girls and Harmony’s girls run at the 3A-4 regional meet at Stuart South Fork at 9:30 a.m.

Gateway’s boys and girls go to DeLand for the 4A-1 regional at 8:30 a.m.

Celebration runner Quincy O’ Connor placed second at the 3A-7 district meet at Harmony last week and qualified as an individual (top 15) for the 3A-4 regional. His time of 15:47 was the third-best among all boys in Class 3A.

St. Cloud’s boys lost the district championship on a tiebreaker after tying Stuart Martin County with 103 points. The sixth-place runner is the tiebreaker, and Martin County won by five places.

The Bulldogs were led by Bailey Morgan (7th, 16:44), Matthew Cole (8th, 16:48), Antonio Montalvo (23rd, 17:23), Carlos Perez (32nd, 17:43) and Sean Wood (34th, 17:47).

The Lady Bulldogs (116) were fifth and were paced by Ashlyn Stadtlander (11th, 20:12), Anaya Reid (13th, 20:23), Katelyn Stadtlander (19th, 20:40), Rebecca Davis (33rd, 21:51) and Taylor Wassum (42nd, 22:08).

Harmony’s girls finished third (97) with Kylie Koral (6th, 19:59), Sam Travis (15th, 20:28), Chelsea Connor (16th, 20:34), Brittany Connor (17th, 20:38) and Kristle Ward (44th, 22:14).

Gateway’s boys were fifth (180) at the 4A-2 district meet in Melbourne last week with Bryan Cudjoe (23rd, 18:03), Joe Kimber (33rd, 18:53), Carlos Espinol (36th, 19:01), Josh Rivera (41st, 19:31) and Max DaSilva (47th, 19:55).

The Lady Panthers were sixth (199) behind Naomi Castin (34th, 24:51), Maura Huddlestone (36th, 26:07), Akilah Chandler (38th, 26:11), Xochi Lopez (45th, 27:43) and Zineh El-Mechrafi (28:14).

The top six teams at the regionals advance to the state meet at Dade City next week.
