Harrell

A Kissimmee man was jailed Monday after shooting several rounds from a rifle into the front door of a home his ex-girlfriend was in as he attempted to force his way inside.

Gerald Franklin Harrell Jr., 52, was arrested and charged with attempted armed burglary, shooting into an occupied dwelling, aggravated assault and open carry of a firearm in public.

At about 7 p.m., Kissimmee police officers responded to a Latonia Street home in Kissimmee and found Harrell sitting in a vehicle in front of the residence. Harrell was taken into custody without incident, according to Kissimmee police reports. A rifle was removed from the vehicle he was inside.

Officers spoke with the victims who reported that Harrell was attempting to gain access into the home to speak with his ex-girlfriend. The residents heard a loud banging at the door, while Harrell was yelling and then several gunshots, police reports said. No one inside the residence was injured during the incident.

Harrell was booked into the Osceola County Jail without bond.
