Celebration concluded its most productive football season in school history with its most productive outing of the year – with two top offensive threats in street clothes.

Quarterback Miguel Torres-Bruno and slot back Tyler Osorio watched as Brandon Archambeau (26 rushes, 135 yards) and Gerry Torres (9-147) led the Storm past Lakeland Christian, 42-12.

Archambeau scored three touchdowns on the ground and returned an interception for a fourth. Torres added the other two on 51- and 60-yard runs.

“We used some unbalanced blocking stuff that nobody had seen before,” CHS Coach Ben Aarestad said. “We finally put a full game together. The defense played very well, particularly in the second half.”

Zack Brown also had an interception, Cameron Ward had a sack and Andrew Braun tallied 10 tackles.

With the win Celebration finishes 2010 at 4-6, tied for the best record in school history (2005 and ‘06), but did it this year against a much tougher schedule.

Aarestad said that it was a great season of development for the Storm.

“After the Kickoff Classic (a 12-0 loss to Lake Howell) I thought we were in for a struggle, especially on offense,” he said. “We got a lot better in a short time.”

Osorio caught 25 passes for 656 yards and six touchdowns, all in the first eight games, and his yardage mark leads the county with a week left in the season.

Torres-Bruno and Will Santry combined for 1,115 passing yards.

“Miguel could have been one of the best around this season if he hadn’t gotten hurt,” Aarestad said. “Brandon was fantastic on both sides, better on defense (29 tackles, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries) than anyone imagined.

Andrew Braun (64 tackles) was great in the middle. And how do you replace Tyler? That’s going to be tough.

“The biggest thing is there’s excitement now around the program and at the games. The kids were excited going from one win to four. And we got the first district win, and won homecoming.”

Aarestad said that the Storm shouldn’t be a one-hit wonder.

“We lose seniors, so does everyone, but we have a good young group coming back that we’re excited about,” he said.

The Storm played in 3A District 9.
